Mayo Bridge Study Meeting 11/10
If you want to learn might be happening to Mayo bridge head to the Public Information Meeting this Wednesday, November 10, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the City Hall 2nd Floor Council Chamber, located at 900 East Broad Street.
From the press release;
The three-phase, 16 month, federally funded study is being conducted to determine if the Mayo Bridge and Manchester Canal Bridge are to be rehabilitated or replaced. Phase I of the study, which started in June 2010, is nearing completion. During this phase detailed physical inspections and structural assessments of the bridges have been performed.
Phase II of the study will begin in mid-November and last four months. During this phase several alternatives for the bridges will be evaluated, as well as utilization of a context-sensitive decision matrix to determine the most appropriate course of action for the Mayo and Manchester Canal bridges.
The final phase of the study is scheduled to begin in April 2011 and last seven months. During this phase the preferred alternative will be investigated in greater detail.Free parking for the meeting will be available after 5 p.m. in the city’s employee surface parking lot, located at 808 East Clay Street. Entrances to the parking lot are located on Clay Street and 8th Street. If the city’s parking lot fills, on-street and paid parking can be found near City Hall.
