Birthday

November is Pet Cancer Awareness Month. Cancer does not have to be a death sentence, and while treatment can be expensive, Fetchacure has helped many people afford treatment that has extended a good quality of life for animals for years. Chemo treatments for dogs, at least, do not routinely have the side effects that many humans suffer. The picture is Chaco Sundagger, who enjoyed his ninth birthday Monday. He is three quarters of the way through chemo for lymphoma and is in complete remission, thanks to Dr. Amanda Fulmer and staff at Veterinary Emergency Center in Carytown. Also check www.fetchacure.com for more details. (Story and photo submitted by Sundagger.)

This website is becoming the Sundagger Show. Yawn.
I like having Sundagger’s contributions on this blog. He adds a perspective to issues that not many other people can. Plus it’s nice to have an interesting feature every once in a while, like the Market recipes and this story, to break up the depression inducing shed break-in stories…just my opinion.
Congratulations, Chaco! Faith (16 yrs or so) is on week 5 of lymphoma treatment with Dr Minor at Stratford Hills Vet and is in remission. Sorry we missed the event last Saturday but Mom was at work raising funds for treatment.
Neighbor first let me thank you for the extremely constructive comment. Secondly I have always stated that I welcome stories, pictures, ideas from everyone. If you or anyone else has a story, picture or idea please send it in.
I really hope that first comment was an attempt at humor. I’d like to believe it was, anyway.
Richard, I feel you. I did the newsletter for a local group for years and I felt like everybody got tired of seeing my byline on every article, but when no one else is pitching in, what can you do? I’m with you — if you don’t like seeing the same bylines over and over, contribute something and it will balance out.
As someone who was involved in a local club for many years, there were frequent complainers and few contributors. These types of stories are what makes a community a community. I visit this site nearly everyday and have introducted it to my coworker who lives in the area. He loves it and has thanked me several times for telling him about the site. I appreciate your contribution to the neighborhood and hope you don’t take offense to negativity of that sort.
(BTW, my post was directed @ Richard.)
you know the old saying: those who can, do. those who can’t, write snarky comments on blogs.
anyhoo, i love hills and heights!
The “Neighbor” and his/her snarky remark offers a prime example of the reason I have this sign up at home – THE MORE PEOPLE I MEET THE MORE I LIKE MY DOG. Glad he/she is not my neighbor!!
