Suspicious Behavior in Forest Hill Terrace
Received this email of some suspicious behavior on 43rd Street;
On Saturday, 10/23/10 at ~6:30 pm (after dark) an African American woman (middle aged) parked in front of our house, came to the door, knocked on the door, yelled “hello” (impatient tone) and knocked much harder. She waited a few seconds, then walked back towards her car. As she was getting into her car, she yelled “I am just Comcast”. When she got into her car (driver side) she beeped her horn several times, before driving away.
The vehicle was black, 4 door, newer model, with a sunroof. It is unknown if she was accompanied.She left a comcast flyer, that has a name and number on it. But the offer on the flyer expired on 7/30/10. Odd behavior from a “Comcast employee” at this day and time.
Our biggest mistake was not calling the cops and reporting the incident at the time it happened.We are wondering if anyone else in the hood experienced something similar. We still have the flyer and plan on following up with comcast to see if this was legitimate. We welcome any suggestions for further course of action.

Thanks for that. I would love to know what comcast has to say about it.Doesnt sound like something they would do, without calling…
Oddest part of the story:No Comcast vehicle or labeled vehicle.I seriously doubt many comcast people use personal vehicles or unmarked vehicles.
Also what from Comcast would be urgent enough for how this person acted?Seems unlikely a real Comcast employee would act as this person did.
I’d like to look into this and check with my local colleagues. If you don’t mind, will you send me more info on this incident? Please send me, the name and number indicated on the flyer, date, time and location. Please include your name and a link to this page on your reply.
Thanks in advance,

I would consider it odd behavior, except that given my experiences with Comcast promising to show up between such and such hours and their general arrival way past said hours this might actually be plausible.
Somehow trying to argue that “I’m just Comcast” while walking away sounds less like Comcast than saying “Comcast” when first knocking. Thanks for the update.
After speaking with regional and local comcast operations personnel, it has been determined that this incident was legitimate, yet highly unprofessional. I made them aware of the sensitivity of our neighborhoods, due to recent and ongoing events. Sorry for the false alarm, beware of crazy comcasters.
Comcast highly unprofessional? Sounds like the same old Comcast to me. We couldn’t have been happier when we left them for Verizon.
