Paddleboats at Forest Hill Park Lake?
Stu snapped these photos of paddle boats in the maintainance yard in Forest Hill Park. Anybody hear any rumors of these heading down to Forest Hill Park Lake or are they just being stored for Byrd Park Lake?

They had some newer ones there a few months back, but they’re gone now. Since the paddleboats are rented, I’m not sure how they’d staff a rental concession at FH Park.
Don’t know but do know that way too much stuff is stored there. Why have a scenic overlook between areas that bring up thoughts of epa sites? Can’t we clean up these areas? The best part of the new trail behind these areas is the trash that was hauled out.

I agree with C. Calling that area “storage” is kind, and this photo doesn’t show much of what’s there – plain trash that needs to be sent to the landfill. If that area had been kept in that condition by a private landowner, I believe they would have received citations from the City. It’s beyond me why the City lets trash sit there.
Years ago at one of the annual city-neighborhood coordinated clean-up efforts, I volunteered to pick up trash at FHP. The overwhelming, disgusting, vast majority of trash was coming down over the hillside into the lake from the Parks & Rec “Storage” center there. Clearly trash had been blowing out of the storage area and down into the lake… I was hit with such dismay and sadness that the people employed by Parks & Rec were doing more littering (even if it was by simple neglect) than any other park visitors.
I literally pick up two bags full at the rocks closest to Forest Hills Blvd. on each trip. I usually go twice a week. It’s a real shame.
