I don’t notice it as much as these days, but people used to always park on the curb on Semmes, what with the 55MPH yahoos rolling through there. I know I would in that curve, if I had the misfortune to need to park there. There was a Lincoln Town Car lodged in the front of the Appliance King, about ten feet to the right of this photo.
This entire corner property is a crying shame. Antonz seems to be doing well and I applaud that but the boarded up Appliance King is nothing but blight. I have mixed feelings about Panchinos as it has not behaved itself very well over the years (now under a new name to avoid legal issues…but still the old Panchinos).
Apparently the entire corner, including the boarded up brick house and the now-boarded up “Streets is Watchin’!” is owned outright by one owner who has no interest in selling or renting (to certain folks) and enjoys EXTREMELY low tax rates. (Researchable on Zillow).
Poor student driver, getting picked on.

What a shame. What wasted potential!
Is the food at Island Venture any good?
