Local BBQ Update
Richmond Magazine.com has some local BBQ news for us. First up is H&H resident Tuffy Stone who deserves a round of applause.
When award-winning brisket is the topic, Tuffy Stone, part owner of Q Barbecue in Midlothian and member of the Cool Smoke barbecue team, has a few things to add to the conversation. The team recently racked up an impressive load of awards during three days of competitive cooking in Great Bend, Kan. In the first day of the gathering, the Chest to Chest brisket competition, Cool Smoke came in second place overall. Days two and three, both Kansas City Barbecue Society events, required entries in chicken, ribs, pork and brisket categories, and the team came in fourth overall each day.
Additionally, the team secured an invitation to the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue, one of the premier competitions all year.
and a Benny’s update
Meanwhile, Benny’s BBQ in South Richmond’s Stratford Hills neighborhood will remain where it is, at least in the short term. Owner Richard Cacciiotti says the lease for Benny’s is up in February and that he is looking for a larger space.

Benny’s! I love the food and it’s a great place to eat after a day on the river.
