They hit my house as well
3105 Forest Hill ave.
Boy were they busy.
I sure hope they catch these guys.
I had a bike and powerwasher stolen,
Where is Richmond PD when you need them? No where to be found.
There was another garage broken into near us Friday night, but nothing was stolen, so it’s not listed above. I would have to disagree with Eva. RPD has been patrolling heavily.
It would be interesting to know how many of these sheds were actually locked up. Those are some big ticket items. If these sheds were really secured, then these guys are good.
I agree with #3. Saturday and Sunday RPD was all over the place, up and down the alleys….too bad the breakins were Friday night. Please keep your lights on and garages/sheds locked.
For less than $100, I think you can get a motion sensor light to guard your sheds, yards, etc.
Our shed was locked up tight, they cut the lock and jumped the fence. I think having 2 newspapers on the porch is what did us in.I despise the thieves.Lets all keep our eyes open and get these guys.
After having our detached garage broken into a few years ago (where they came into our fenced yard to break in), we padlocked the gates in the fence and installed motion sensor lights on the alley side and on the yard side of the garage. We also installed very nice “normal” looking motion sensor lights on our front porch. Haven’t had a problem since. Bought all the lights at Lowes.
Sorry for anyone who was robbed recently. When it happened to us, the thought that thugs were slinking thru our yard while the kids and I were asleep was terribly upsetting.
I did see a heavy police presence in our alley over the weekend. Now I know why, and I’m thankful for it!
I don’t think lights are the total solution. The two breakins near us happened right beneath city lights in the alley. One of the sheds did have a lock, but it was a padlock w/ hasp.
Dogs..have seemed to keep me ok so far.
The bad guys jumped our fence, broke the lock and hasp right off the garage door and cleaned house! Our motion-sensor light was broken. Guess who’s going to Lowes today for a new one!
I have been lucky. Garage door is locked always and now under a shed roof so sensor lights are on my list of to do. Had a city light installed in alley which now shines behind the garage and I keep all trees and bushes cut to ground level back there as well. My bay door is locked but I also installed a sliding bolt lock, BIG ones, on each side of the door and nailed the window shut. So far, so good. I feel really lucky since I was out of town during all of this.
