1. Neighbors are still reporting suspicious vehicles to the police. The following vehicles have been observed lurking about the area. If you see these cars, please report it to the police at 646-5100.
- Near Dunston & 46th Street Alley – large van with license plate KMP-5190
- Near Dunston & 45 & 46 Streets – a beat up black chevy, regular cab pick up, missing its front bumper. VA Tags JGW-9243, and was drive by a dark black male about 35-40 yoa.
Please call anytime you see a suspicious looking truck, van, car or person/people. If you see a non-commercial vehicle riding around with multiple lawnmowers and other items, this is a huge clue that the person is up to no good! Only together are we going to drive these people from our neighborhood.
2. If you are the victim of graffiti (REBAR” or “CAJEN”), please see the notice below and contact the Richmond Police Department.
3. I have requested additional Neighborhood Watch reflective vests. If you are interested in wearing a vest on your walks/jogs/strolls through the neighborhood, please let me know!!

Had a couple of shed/garage break ins in the area of 46th & Dunston last week in broad daylight. “Harden the targets”
Is every self employed lawn/yard worker truly a threat? – we have a lovely older gentleman who cuts the grass here and all he’s got is a pickup truck and a lawnmower.
Yes, but you know him. If you do, why not say, “This is my yard guy, and this is what he drives,” so people have an idea about who he is?
This going to be tricky. The MO of some of the alley burglars is to ride up and down with equipment in the back. Sometimes the equipment is something they have just taken from a shed or yard. The general RPD advice is to report whnever you feel something doesn’t look right. They can figure out if the person is a legit yard guy.
If anyone is in need of replacing their stolen mower I’ve seen some great deals on Craigslist just recently. Also very reasonable prices on bicycles.
Be sure you are not replacing a solen bike or lawnmower with another stolen item.
