Forest Hill Avenue Cleanup
The badly overgrown and unkempt vacant lot at 4930 Forest Hill Avenue is getting a new look. At one point it was going to be a mixed use development but that has fallen to the wayside.
As a result of an agreement brokered by Council President Graziano, the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities will take over maintenance of about half the lot. In exchange the department will be able to use part of the lot for badly needed parking for the Westover Community Facility.
Owners of the property have committed to keeping the other half mowed as well.

Awesome. Perhaps now that means people will actually park in a parking lot, rather than up against the fences where they can throw their trash into my backyard or rocks at my dogs.
Great win-win solution! That lot had become an eyesore with the overgrown weeds.
Really glad to hear that the mixed-use development is not going in. Hills and Heights posted the plans for that project and I’m pretty sure that the consensus here was that the project was downright hideous and cheap looking.
Kudos to Kathy for working yet another miracle!
I think you give our “esteemed” council president too much credit.
I too am glad the mixed use development did not come to fruition. The design was cheap and hideous and not in keeping with the charm of the neigborhood.
Not much charm in that section of Forest Hill and Westover Blvd. At least the new development would have been NEW- though I have to admit I don’t know anything about the former proposed plans. It would have been nice to get a restaurant or market…
