Kohl’s Cares School Fundraiser
Kohl’s is having a competition to give away 10 million dollars. It’s based on which schools get the most votes. Each of the top 20 schools will receive $500,000. The contest is on Facebook and you can vote for any school in the H&H area. I know that the folks at Patrick Henry are working hard to get the votes. If you do decide to vote for Patrick Henry, when searching make sure and spell it out as Patrick Henry School of Science and Arts. Fisher, Westover Hills Elementary, Wythe, and Lucille Brown were the local schools I was able to quickly find.

And you get 20 votes, so you can actually spread them around as I did!
Isn’t it Patrick Henry School of Science and Arts?
Fixed, thanks.
I’m conducting a little social networking experiment: as most of my FB friends cannot participate (not US residents) I’ve asked them to pass the message along to *their* FB friends in the US.
Lets take the “Six Degrees of Separation” theory and put it to the test.
Last time I checked, PHSSA only had a few hundred votes, whereas schools in the lead had tens of thousands of votes.
C’mon everyone, we’ve got some voting to do!!!
Is there a way to vote without (as the vote now link seems to require) giving Kohls access to “my basic information [which] Includes name, profile picture, gender, networks, user ID, list of friends, and any other information I’ve shared with everyone [and] Access my profile information Likes, Music, TV, Movies, Books, Quotes and Education History”?
It is nice of them to be giving away the money but they sure are acquiring a lot of information on people in the process!
I think, as long as you set your privacy settings to be super clamped down, they can only have access to the things that you have made public already. I would then delete the application after you’ve entered your votes. I’m not a fan of the phishing either, so understand your concern. I’m not POSITIVE this eradicates the issue, but may help.
