Forest Hill Park Tours
Have you heard about the lake renovations at Forest Hill Park, and wanted to visit?
You haven’t been because the walk up and down to the lake is just too long and steep.
On July 18th, there will be a unique, one time opportunity to ride down to the lake in a golf cart, visit the gazebo and see information about the restoration project. There will a shuttle running, and riders can either stay aboard the golf cart for a circuit around the lake or get off at the gazebo and catch a later shuttle.
The shuttle is part of Sunday in the Park with Friends, an annual event sponsored by City Council President Kathy Graziano and the Friends of Forest Hill Park. The event starts at noon and runs through 4 pm. There will be food, children’s games and activities, environmental displays, and music. All activities are free including the shuttle rides, and all the neighborhoods around the park are invited.

Excellent
And hopefully turnout and interest will encourage the city to consider ways to make the lower reaches of FHP accessible to those of us of advancing age and/or limited physical resources who currently have no way to enjoy this valuable resource.
Heck, taking this golf cart idea to it’s logical conclusion, and that’s season long weekend cart rentals, providing access to our citizens could actually be a money maker for the park system.

Any idea when the Harvey bridge will be completed? The footings were laid down some time ago.
