Help K1-D2 Help The Gulf

The ongoing ecological disaster in the gulf has been weighing heavily on my mind lately. It was nice to read that our local knit graffiti artist posse/gang/club/troop/clutch/crew are doing something to help the marine mammals in the gulf as part of Craft Hope.

The focus here at K1-D2 the past few weeks has been lots of cotton crocheting for this project. Want to help, too? It’s as easy as donating some Dawn. But you know really, it’s not difficult to make these towels…Even if you aren’t currently skilled at making things like this – that’s what You Tube is for! Several of us K1-D2ers learned to crochet via You Tube, as a matter of fact. Okay, so…first – you’ll need cotton. You can use cotton yarn or even re-purpose old t-shirts or towels.

Head to the K1-D2 website for some pictures of the towels. Finished towels can be dropped off thru July 28 in the boxes we’ve put at The Yarn Lounge, Holly Spring Homespun, and The Knitting Basket.
