Boka Tako Truck Coming to Farmer’s Market
The fusion taco truck Boka Tako that has been getting some press in the area and has been hitting Twitter hard is going to make an appearance at the South of the James Farmer’s Market this Saturday. Saw this on their Twitter and as a comment on Richmond.com. We have at least 3 sets of dueling food vendors. BBQ – Texas & Big Daddy, Coffee – Blanchards & Crossroads and now Tacos – Nate’s & Boka.
Nice. He does make a mean Tako for your Mouf (as he would say).
Meanwhile, the market closest to me, Monument and Robinson, has how many food vendors? Zero, last I checked. I think vendors who stick their necks out and go first into a new “market” should reap the benefit. My inner food-blogger tells me that the Fan’s farmer’s market would grow exponentially with the addition of some hot food.
Richard, Don’t forget Cielito Lindo for breakfast burritos, etc, and Rowlands Fine Dining for carniatas, beach cakes, etc.
Good one Sundagger. Also there are a good number of bakers but I couldn’t remember all the vendors name.
Cielito Lindo is closing, right?
The official line from folks working at CL was that it was going to stay open even with new owners. I have noticed that the For Sale sign is no longer up but haven’t heard anything else.
Pleasepleaseplease… can’t Lamplighter or someone open a coffee and noshers stand at the Monument Market? It would make a huge difference.

We are not coming to the Farmers Market to duel. We are coming to offer our locally inspired goodies to the fine folks of Forest Ave. We have some tasty treats in line, with a few surprises. The Duck egg takos will be first come, first serve, and I need a new Chorizo vendor since Faith Farms is not at this market. Who has some tasty local chorizo? Any vendors that want us to feature their product on our menu should contact us directly, or come by. I will try to visit everyone if I have time. Thanks. And, as for the Monument Ave Farmers market, I hope to be able to serve this market before the summers end, so don’t feel neglected. I am building my empire as quickly as possible!
Faith Farms will be at Forest Hill this and every week.
I actually prefer the monument market because it’s more low key. The southside market is completely out of control.
