Local Ukrop’s Shuts Down on Saturday
This Saturday is the last day to walk the hallowed halls of our local Ukrop’s. It will be closed for a few weeks while Martin’s puts it stamp on the store. If you are interested in what you will see when the doors reopen head to Karri Peifer’s article at Richmond.com. I was told by a little birdie that the local store is hiring but don’t have any additional information. Blanchard’s coffee will be on the shelf but I know that there was a little hiccup with the stores that opened this week. If you don’t see the coffee on the shelf yet or isn’t on the shelf the first few days when this one reopens, fear not, for the deal is still in place.

I shopped at the stratford Hills Ukrop’s the other day and their inventory is getting pretty dang low. They are marking down the food club stuff since they’re not going to carry it any longer so there may be deals to be had.
Yeah, Ukrop’s brand stuff is all SUPER affordable, especially the dairy stuff: butter is $1.50 a pound, and cheese is about 1/2 off. I stocked up!
But yes, the store was bare-bones last night. I spoke to some of the employees, and they said they were working through the change-over, so at least they will not have to take an unexpected unpaid vacation.
