Murder on Pine Crest Avenue
At 10:19 p.m. Sunday, Richmond Police were called to investigate a shooting at 5005 Pine Crest Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found Christopher J. Mackin, 30 of that address, shot to death inside the residence.
Detectives are investigating several leads at this time, but ask anyone with any information on this crime to call the Richmond Police Tipline at 514-TIPS or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.

This is really scary and sad. Richmond has seen too many murders over the last week.
I understand Mackin’s dog was killed as well. Sad and scary indeed, especially considering the number of kids who live in that general area and the proximity to both WH Elementary and the Waldorf school.
it wasnt mackins dog…
I’d really like to know if there’s some unifying element connecting some of these murders the city has seen over the last few weeks. It just seems to have come out of nowhere and it’s disquieting.
And why are we not getting some perspective from the police High Command, what they think is the cause and what they plan to do about it?
It was the owner of the house, Preston dog Smooches, and CJ was his cousin. all she was trying to do was defend her house. This was sensless and has rocked our neighborhood. To kill these 2 for no reason at all people honestly make mw sick! RIP CJ and Smooches! We will get justice. I am Prestons sister in law we live a block from the house and 2 lose 2 things that mean so much to you and your sense of security at the same time is rediculous
