McDonnell to Donate $25,000 to Patrick Henry
In addition to lending his political weight to Richmond’s Patrick Henry School of Science and Arts, Gov. Bob McDonnell plans to give the fledgling charter school $25,000 from his surplus inaugural funds.
Will be very curious to see how the school board meeting goes down tonight. If anyone can make it please let us know what you hear/see.

Sounds like it didn’t go well.

The part I don’t really understand is the statement that they only got the phase one renovation plans yesterday. I saw them presented months ago at the only meeting I went to at the school. It was why I went – to tour the school and see the plans.
I don’t even have a child who I am trying to get into the school, but I am so disappointed in these stall tactics.
Megan, me too. What do they stand to lose? The building will be renovated at NO cost to RPS. They will be paying LESS per pupil than they do for any other child in the city and it’s on the sweat and tears of volunteers. It really seems like a group of petty tyrants trying to make sure they “do” something.
PageH, if all you say is true, RPS is probably scared of looking bad. A better education, in an accessible building, largely created by volunteers, for less money? Makes the “pros” look incompetent.
