Patrick Henry Picks Principal
From RTD we learn that Patrick Henry School has a principal.
Pamela L. Boyd, a teacher at Fairfield Middle School, will officially start July 1 as principal at the Patrick Henry School of Science and Arts. School officials will introduce Boyd to parents on April 1.
During an interview yesterday at the school, Boyd said she was drawn to the school because of its integrated technology and the use of the adjacent Forest Hill Park in everyday lessons.
“It’s very 21st century,” Boyd said. “When children can make the connections from subject to subject to subject, when they can buy into that, it makes learning more relevant for them,” she said. “They become a stakeholder in their own educational realm.”
Parents will get a chance to meet Ms. Boyd April 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the school, 3411 Semmes Ave.
