Mayor Jones wants you to come and share your priorities for the 2011 budget. This is the Fourth District’s chance to let him know what is important in this district, whether it is RE tax rate, the stormwater utility, leaf collection, street paving, schools or social programs.

It’s very important for as many people as possible to come out and speak. If we don’t and don’t tell the mayor about our budget priorities, we have no excuse for what council and the mayor do.
Playing devil’s advocate though, having spent countless hours hanging out at the GA over years, I think most politicians already know what people are going to say know what they (the politicians) are going to do.
The problem is that regardless of what people say at these public hearings they rarely (in Richmond at least)hold the politicians feet to the fire at the ballot box.
