Gunshots Last Night In Forest Hill
Anybody know anything more than this email I received? I thought I read about another set of gunshots over the weekend in a different location but can’t find the info.
Have you heard anything about the gunshots in Forest Hill last night? Near W 46th and Dunston? We heard about 6 REALLY loud pops around 9:10. Sounded like it was right behind my house. My neighbors, both of whom are law enforcement, came running out with guns drawn. My husband many other neighbors called 911. Haven’t seen my neighbors yet today, and didn’t see anything in the news today…

We didn’t go on anything gunshot-related last night. I have some sneaking suspicions about where such noises might have come from, though, given the location.
Jennifer, are you referring to the apartments on 47th? That’s usually where the chaos it, but this time it sounded like it was coming from one block over, in the alley. Of course, I’m no gunshot sound expert…
I did not hear the shots but was out walking the pup shortly after it happened (9:20pm or so) and saw no less than 3 RPD cruisers patrolling the area between 48th & Taylor. They were on the scene fast… nice to see the quick response.
Great to see neighbors working together. We cannot allow the park to get over run by thugs.
At around 9:10 last night I also heard what sounded like 4 gunshots. It sounded like they were coming from the alley between 46th and 47th. If anyone has more info, please post!
We heard a number of gunshots from somewhat far away on 2/26 around 10:30pm. We were in bed and figured someone closer would call the police… Maybe next time we’ll call too. It was clearly a gun of some sort, we heard about 5-6 shots one on top of the other, very rapid-fire.
9mm casings were found on the corner of 47th and Dunston by a concerned neighbor and turned over to police yesterday. 7 Police officers/cruisers responded to the numerous calls to 911 and they did a search of the neighborhood but were unable to locate any suspects. No gunshot wounds were reported to area hospitals and the arrest of the man for an attempted robbery of the FasMart is believed to be unrelated.
