As some interesting information, the governor is proposing a number of tax cuts and business incentives to create 29,000 new jobs in the next two years. His budget cuts are estimated to cost the loss of 28,000 jobs in education and 6,000 in health care.
RVAnews has a map on how the unfreezing of the index would affect all the counties. Be sure and keep an eye on the comments.
When this state approved the lottery it was with the understanding that revenues go to education…instead the money goes in to the general fund and then some finds its way to education.
Cuts in education should be the last on any list.
