More Information About Westover Hills Library Renovation
The Westover Hills Library Advisory Group (WHLAG) recently updated their website to include some more details about their impending renovation. Although it will be closed for a few months, the improvements are sure to be worth it. Looking at photos taken at its opening you can see that many of the fixture,s like the shelves and librarian desk, have never been updated. Here are the deets…
1) When is construction expected to begin? How long is the project? Renovation is scheduled to begin in April. Expected project time 4-6 months.
2) What will they be renovating? In a word, everything. New paint, carpet, shelving, furniture, wiring, windows, additional computers, and a new circulation desk.
3) Where can people view the plans? Final plans are coming soon.
4) How much is it expected to cost? $600,000 — $800,000 has been budgeted.
5) Where will our librarians go? Current employees will be staffing other branches and are expected to return once project is complete.
6) What are the closest branches during the closure? Belmont – 3100 Ellwood Avenue Hull Street – 1400 Hull Street Broad Rock – 4820 Warwick Road.
7) Book returns after renovation closing? Current plans include leaving the return box in place for 2 weeks after closure with library staff handling. Once the box is gone, returns will need to occur at other branches.

Will they be putting in wifi?
I’m pretty sure they already have wifi. I’ve even seen one guy parked next to the bldg before they’re open with his laptop on his steering wheel.
