Vote for H&H at RVANews Internet Awards
RVANews is hosting the RVA Internet Awards and Hills and Heights is in the running for two awards; Best Neighborhood Blog and Best Thread. Click on that second link to learn more about the awards and get to the voting page. Voting closes this Friday. There are some very talented folks and there are links to their respective websites, so if you don’t recognize someone check them out. It is very cool to be in the running for these awards and I promise when I become a giant multi-media mega corporation I won’t forget you folks here at Hills & Heights.

Good luck, but you should know that the folks over at CHPN have been politicking for a week now.
No worries one way or another. I have only been doing this for a little over a year so I am very thrilled to have been nominated.
I read them both. No doubt that H & H has more information and less mean-spirited people. The only problem is that you have to vote on a bunch of other stuffas well…like I care who is the best Twittered? That’s an oxymoron (or a dumb steer, as we call it0>
You by far have the best relative content of any of the neighborhood blogs out there. Good luck. Also for best overall blog the last one listed, kindnessgirl, is a resident of Westover Hills on Devonshire. So when you do go vote please give her your support. She is one of the nicest people on the planet.
It’s all true! H&H has totally been kicking ass for months now. This site and Boulevardizen are 2 very different but great community sites.
Thanks all. It is worth noting that without John stepping in and keeping H&H on life support for awhile it would have gone away. I think all the other nominees have found their voice and I am still working on Hills and Heights. I consider John the Godfather of the Neighborhood Blog Mafia, in a good way not a have you killed and take your money kind of way.
Richard, you were right the first time about the godfather. That’s why they had to close the Church Hill Railroad tunnel. John just had too many bodies backed up…you will like this blog or else. It was a terrible time.
And we ran out of horses.
I hear you have plenty of geese up there…
The results are in and absolutely no surprises. In the two categories we were in, we lost to CHPN and a RVANews thread on the naming of the baseball team. I will spend the day dressed in black and writing sad poems in my journal with my tears of defeat.
You wuz robbed… CHPN was politicking form day one.
CHPN has a really large readership compared to H&H, and John Murden contributes to the whole network on a big scale, so it is no surprise that he’d take the category. Congrats CHPN!
Quantity trumped quality, IMHO. Keep up the great work, Richard!
