1 Stuck Cat
From the Woodland Heights Yahoo Group:
I’m posting this for a friend who has actually tried to get cat down. She told me there is a large black cat high up in a tree on 24th.st. They have tried different varieties of food produts to lure down w/no luck. They called fire dept. and were told they no longer responded to cats stuck in trees and referred my friend to animal rescue where she was only able to leave message and by 7:00ish p.m. they had not heard back from them. Is there anyone out there who
has experience in getting cats down out of trees? Apparently he/she has already been up there 4 days. If anyone is willing to go try here is where cat is located: if coming from forest hill direction take a right on 24th.st. as soon as you do that look on right side of street and there are 2 trees (actually they are first 2 trees on st.) the cat is in 2nd. tree. My friend doesn’t live on that block so take help w/u b/c there may not be anyone else around at the time u go to see what you can do. Apparently there have been cases in which cats have starved to death up there. Also, we don’t know who cat belongs to, is anyone in that area missing black cat ?? Thanks for helping in any way you can.
UPDATE: Cat is no longer in the tree.
Call the guys at TrueTimber (http://truetimber.net/) on Old Westham Rd across from the Stratford Hills Shopping Center. They are professional tree climbers and may be able to help.
I’ve always found that just leaving them be is the best course. They will climb down on their own once they think the coast is clear.
The cat is no longer in the tree.
Yay cat is down! I once had a cat in a tree across the street from me for 11 days. yes, 11. Prolly 60 feet up. He happily now resides in my neighbor’s barn.
Thanks for the update Stuffa and Kat. I updated the post.
