Incident in Forest Hill
From the Forest Hill Neighborhood Watch: Please be aware that on Saturday, Jan. 9th, near 46th street, a woman knocked on several residents’ doors around 10pm. She indicated that she was in trouble and several residents called the police for her (without opening the door). She was then observed walking away and using a cell phone. Police responded to the area but did not observe her in the area. Apparently she hid herself in some nearby woods, and eventually emerged when a taxi appeared.

This happened to me several years ago in the same area. I noticed out the window that there was a guy across the street kind of hiding in the bushes. I called the police “for her”, but the two of them were gone when the police came. DO NOT open your door to anyone you don’t know. Just call the police.
My paper carrier recently left me a nasty note because I didn’t come to the door… after dark…. without knowing who was there. He said he knew I was home and I was being rude. Better rude than dead.
