This site should provide a clue, but I don’t think it took long for Staples Mill Pond to freeze and the water flow there is quicker ( or used to be )than FHP lake.

Installation of the lights around the lake will begin this week, take 4-6 weeks to complete.

I think the lights have been operational for a good while now.
How many days of below-freezing temperatures would it take for ice to be thick enough to skate on, given that there is flowing water there?

Great stuff, reminds me of the days before global warming when that lake used to freeze hard enough for ice skating.
Anyone know if those street lights are working? If they are, there may be an opporunity to relive olde times if this winter is as cold as the wooly worms and snow hornets predict it will be.
