Car Break-in on Springhill
From the Forest Hill Neighborhood Crime Watch, although “break-in” might be a little exaggerated since it was unlocked:
A neighbor in the 4100 block of Springhill has reported that last night (12/6/09) someone entered an unlocked car and rummaged through it, taking loose change.
It seems like someone is prowling in the neighborhood looking for unlocked cars in the last few months so keep that in mind when getting out of your cars!
Better to leave your car unlocked and lose some spare change, then have a window broken and lose some spare change.
I used to leave my soft-top Jeep unlocked for that very reason. I didn’t keep any more than loose change in it, but the thieves were too dumb to push the latch button on my center console and forced it anyway. You can’t even make it easy for them and expect to get away with it.
Any one have a time frame for this, early evening, after midnight?
