Dry spell+heavy rain=trees down.
There were several downed trees in the city last night, including one in the alley behind the 5200 block of Devonshire Rd. The horizontal tree, which is now blocking the alley, took out power lines to one house and damaged a garage. Virginia Power has been called to the site to check on the wires.

I heard that!!! Couldn’t figure out for the life of me what the heck it was though!

You can zoom in down to the street level and see how many people are without power. Of course if you have no poser you cannot see this map.
This will also be a good test for those with fios telephone to see if their battery backup works.
I meant without power. Being without poser is a different issue.
