Loose Dog on Riverside & 42nd
Loose dog report from Caitlin;
There was a small loose dog, black with white chest and feet, maybe 25 pounds, looked like a beagle mix, VERY skittish, no collar or tags that I could see, loose on Riverside between 42nd Street park and Reedy Creek park entrances. I spent about an hour trying to catch him, but he would not come to me for squeaky treats, leash jangles, car rides or treats! I called Richmond Animal control because he was weaving in and out of rush hour traffic, and I was afraid someone inattentive would run him down—hopefully they caught him and he is safe at the city shelter. The owners should check the shelter, and then if ACC was not able to catch him, he’s probably still in that area, he seemed to not want to leave that area, he kept running back
and forth up and down the street there.

I saw the same dog this morning (8:30ish) on devonshire and then again around lunchtime on Forest Hill near Cielito.
On another note regarding four-legged creatures in the neighborhood, I almost plowed into a large buck deer, complete with a nice set of antlers, last night near the intersection of Dunston and 41st. Be on the lookout now that it’s dark at rush hour time.
