Carolyn Heuser Powell’s heart abruptly stopped in the middle of the night on July 5th, 2009. Carolyn who is only 27 has a long road to recovery but is progressing well. The recovery has as you would expect a pile of bills associated with it and the community is pulling together to help out. You can wish Carolyn well on this Facebook page. Midlothian Exchange.com has an article about how former James River High field hockey team members (of which she is an alum) organized a fundraiser earlier this year. CBS6 also ran a story on the Carolyn’s field hockey connection.

At St. Michael’s Episcopal School in Bon Air Saturday November 7th from Noon – 4 there are going to be a nice selection of vendors and products, raffle and food for sale. A portion of the proceeds from each vendor will go to Carolyn Heuser Powell and her family.
