Payback Gets Forest Hill Park Jumping
It was a beautiful, cool evening Sunday night when a large crowd headed to the park to watch Payback, a James Brown tribute band. The kids started dancing early but by the end there was a rare crowd of adults dancing with abandon. It’s hard NOT to shake your groove thang with such great music.

The band was extremely tight, and while they played James Brown songs they weren’t trying to imitate the man. Two killer drummers, two guitarists, a bassist and 3-man horn section backed up the singer making up the largest group to perform at the popular Music In The Park Series, sponsored by the neighborhood associations of Westover Hills, Forest Hill and Woodland Heights, in addition to many local businesses. This season presented a wide range of musical styles from Klezmer to alt-country and now R&B. Can’t wait to see what next years lineup includes!

Why the stink eye, drummer guy?
