Richmond Folk Festival Needs Help
The Richmond Folk Festival, the best festival in the area is fast approaching and is in need of a few more volunteers. As most of you know this incredible festival is put on by volunteers and corporate donations. The local corporations have stepped up but the organizers still need people to work the Bucket Brigade. For those that don’t know the Bucket Brigade walks around the festival with bright orange buckets and asks for donations. So you will be able to listen to music and help out. An interesting fact I learned last night at a volunteer training session was that Richmonders aren’t as generous to the Bucket Brigade as other cities that have similar festivals. Bangor Maine just finished their Folk Festival and collected around $100,000 in their buckets. The best Richmond has done is in the $35,000 range. So if you can’t volunteer throw in more than a buck so that this festival can grow.
