Their stops include:
- Weston Manor with a tour of the plantation and insight into the families that lived there.
- Westover Plantation the ancestral seat of the Byrd family in Virginia.
- Fort Pocahontas where an earthen fort built and manned by hundreds of United States Colored Troops which repelled an attack by Major General Fitzhugh Lee, Robert E. Lee’s nephew.
- Ending in Jamestown.

Great idea, Waldorf. This ought to be a great learning experience. Also included should be credit for a unit in entomology and epidemiology, from the mosquitos.
Seriously congratulations for a creative use of natural resources.
I dropped off food for the kids last night. They have traveled 20 miles and are doing great! They were camping at the beautiful Westover Plantation for the evening and heading out for 10 more miles today. What an amazing experience!
Did you tell them about the river ghosts?
