9/11 Service to be Held at Carillon

The City of Richmond ’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities will host a program on Friday, September 11, to honor Richmond ’s Police, Fire and Emergency Services departments, Richmond Ambulance Authority, and the Red Cross as part of the National Day of Service and Remembrance. The program will take place at 11 a.m. at the World War I Memorial Carillon building in Byrd Park.
The program will include vocalist Durron Tyre, invocation and benediction by Rev. Deborah D. Lynch, and guest speaker Reggie Gordon, chief executive officer of the Richmond Chapter of the American Red Cross. The event will conclude with a concert on the Carillon by Carillonneur Larry Robinson.
Light refreshments will be served.
