Attempted Catalytic Converter Theft

The incident occurred on Thursday on the 300 block of West 29th and was reported on the Woodland Heights Yahoo Group. A saw was used to cut most of the way through the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe while going after the catalytic converter on a Toyota pickup. Police said, they are going after them as scrap metal, especially Toyota Tacoma’s and 4 Runners since they sit up high and the exhaust is easy to access. The thieves were unsuccessful (but will still have to pay for damages to his truck) but the victim wanted to get the word out so people could keep an eye out for suspicious behavior.
