Residential Break-in Reported
Forwarded to us by Noah Rogers the local Crime Watch captain.
A residential break-in occurred yesterday in the 5700 block of Woodburn Road.
Woodburn Road runs east to west between Langdon Drive and North Riverside Drive. For further reference, Woodburn is 2 blocks north of Forest Hill Avenue and is located south of the Westover Hills West Subdivision.
The incident occurred sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Entry to the residence appears to have been made through the back door. The dead bolt lock on the door was not engaged and it appears the door lock that was engaged could be easily defeated by a credit card.
Approximately $2,000 in TVs and other electronics where stolen.
If you observe any suspicious individuals or vehicles in our area please take note of as much descriptive information as possible and call 911.
Please be especially aware of vehicles that may be parked in front of/beside/behind a neighbor’s residence. In yesterday’s incident a vehicle would be needed to remove all of the stolen property.
In addition, all exterior doors should be equipped with a dead bolt lock.

Also a little far afield, but a home breakin during the day in the 7000 block of Montauk in Cherokee Hills. Someone kicked in a dead bolt locked read door, took TV, cash and othr belongins. took place August 5th (day after National Night Out).
Unfortunately, we never heard about this from the police department. The resident went through the neighborhood alerting other neighbors.
Sector policing seems to have taken a break in this area.
Well it’s good to know that David cares about stolen TVs in Cherokee Hills, since he was so dismissive of the “not-in-OUR-neighborhood” car-jacking not too long ago…

I didn’t see David’s comments in the link you posted as a “not-in-OUR-neighborhood” comment. Information I had posted was inaccurate (due to the timing of the RTD), he pointed it out and I corrected. To me that is the end of the story.
