Roadwork on Jahnke?
1 Comment »The city is considering improvements to Jahnke and will hold a meeting next Wednesday. At the very least the road needs a sidewalk/bike lane that runs all the way to Forest Hill Ave. It is extremely dangerous when folks are walking along the road.

The City of Richmond Department of Public Works is considering improvements to Jahnke Road between Blakemore Road and Forest Hill Avenue. Engineers are currently investigating conditions along Jahnke Road and will recommend a design that will accommodate future conditions. Communication with the citizens in the corridor is vital to the success of the project. Come out and talk to the City’s project manager and engineers involved with the project.
This will be a Public Information Meeting, not an official public hearing.
We will be discussing the development schedule, and the alternatives the City has asked the engineers to investigate.
Engineering work is just beginning, so only preliminary information about the project will be available. We will be talking with citizens to determine your concerns about the development of the project. You may provide oral or written comments at the meeting.
Written comments should be submitted by July 25, 2009 to:
Mr. Marvin Tart, Project Manager,
Department of Public Works, 6th Floor, City Hall,
City of Richmond,
900 East Main Street, Richmond, VA 23219

2nd that call for a bike lane. It would make a great connector to many points further south but is difficult and dangerous to ride the way it is.
