Tree Attacks Cars on King William Road
Without any provocation or warning a tree on the 5000 block of King William unleashed it’s fury on two cars by dropping a large branch. The attack totaled (to my unprofessional eye) one car and severely damaged another. All requests for comments from the tree were met with silence. It is suspected that this might be in retaliation to the ongoing City of Richmond work to remove sickly and dead trees throughout the city.
More images after the break but be warned some are very graphic and might not be appropriate for younger cars or car lovers.

There seem to be a lot of angry trees in the city today. I’m gonna go out and hug the ones in my yard so they don’t try to kill me!
That’s what happens when people get hysterrical and say don’t cut down any trees, they don’t hurt anyone! This one looked big enough that it either needed trimming about a decade ago it didn’t get or is nearing the end of its span. Hard to tell without better angles (but still great pictures!), but sometimes they jsut need replacements for the next generation.
thats just mother nature removing carbon from the atmosphere. recycling it back into the earth.
Now is the time to get out the ax and saw and chop them down, so they have time to dry out and provide firewood to cash strapped residents this winter, and before the “BIG ONE” (as in hurricane” hits later this season.
But don’t expect quick action from the city…. I was put on a three year waiting list when I made my call, and then three years later, they claimed no record.
WOW, I wondered what happened to the car I saw yesterday. These old trees can be trimmed up and pruned and in shape and still have these incidents. All mine were tended to about 4 years ago. Just break out the check book and git er done. If I can afford it, anyone can. That’s all I ever hear from folks, “it’s SO expensive!” So is replacing a roof or living next to a neigbor whose car your tree took out.
