Additional Report of Aggressive Dogs on Loose
From Westover Hills Crimewatch Captain, Noah Rogers:
I have received an additional report of an animal being killed by dogs running at large.
The attack took place early this morning in the 1900 block of Woodbine Road.
Woodbine Road intersects with New Kent Road and dead ends just south of Riverside Drive. Woodbine Road is one block west of the intersection of New Kent Road and 45th Street.
Reportedly, 3 large black dogs cornered and then killed a raccoon in the backyard of a residence.
Please exercise caution with your animals – in addition, if you have a fence make sure your gates are secured.
Many neighbors over the last week or so have called Richmond Animal Control to report an injured animal or to request that an animal control officer respond to the area after they witnessed animals running at large.
Please be aware that Richmond Animal Control is extremely busy during the day and additionally Animal Control Officers do not respond after business hours. If you have an issue with an aggressive animal or animals call 911 and request a police response.
