Music in the Park

Happy Lucky Combo played  at the Stone House in Forest Hill Park tonight and featured a guest appearance by John Winn on clarinet.  Since it is our desire to give you the most up to date neighborhood events we cancelled our reservations for Mother’s Day dinner at Chez Fancypants and headed over to the park.  As always Happy Lucky did not disappoint.

Largest attendance ever for this event. What you see here is about 50% of the crowd. Anyone want to buy me a wide-angle lens?

This was the largest crowd ever for this event. What you see here is about 14. Anyone want to buy me a wide-angle lens?

Nice photo of Barry and his squeeze box. He also has played for many years with the Ululating Mummies along with Pippin Barnett the drummer and Dave the bass player. Sorry I missed the event!

So sorry we missed this! I saw the sign for Music in the Park (no day, time or band was posted). So I never heard that Happy Lucky was playing until a friend called to ask “are you here?’ but by then we were picnicing at Agecroft, wishing for a different kind of music! Rats! Better advertising and better searching on my part will make it happy next time!

Good point on the signage… the events might draw a bigger crowd with some time and place information displayed.

Music in the Park is a program sponsored by the Forest Hill, Woodland Heights and Westover Hills Neighborhood Assns. This is the 4th year for the concerts. We hold them once a month from May to October – always on the second Sunday. So when you see the sign – that means the next Sunday will have a concert. You can also check out the website of FHNA at foresthillneighborhood.com for a cool poster of the series. We have worked hard to bring a variety of music to the park and I especially enjoy seeing everyone (kids, dogs, folks of all ages) groovin’ in the Park. You won’t want to miss the next one!

And we’ll continue to post about the event here on H&H as well!
