Sunday Happenings
We gave it the ol’ college try but we just couldn’t get to all the happenings in our little hood this weekend! Yesterday was the market amongst other things and today was Arts In the Park and then Vibe Fest.
We hit Arts in the Park at 11 am. The early light showers were easy to ignore, the downpour less so. Did we bring an umbrella? No. Ah well. We did buy an awesome stone bench from Joe Dumas of Yellow Dog Enterprises. It also looked like a handful of exhibitors had left in advance of the wet weather. To whomever left a blue umbrella at the playground, thanks for letting us borrow it and it’s safe should you want it returned! I hope once the rain cleared, that the fest had a good turnout.

The weather at the Vibe Fest at Stratford Hills Shopping Center was cool and cloudy and looked threatening but the rain held off for what turned out to be a really nice time! With two stages and 30 minute sets, the music hardly paused and it was possible to see 4 or 5 bands in the short time we were there. It’s a great little festival and we were happy to support Positive Vibe’s mission to provide restaurant training for folks with different abilities.

Blue Line Highway, a popular band from H&H, some of their members live right in Forest Hill, I hear.

Watermelon gazpacho and brisket sliders were some of the many delectable delights available. Our 5 year old gave the thumbs up to the giant chocolate chip cookies too.

And three folks of the clownish variety provided kiddish fun. This balloon hat was out of control.
Despite the overcastness, cold beer was quite nice too. They had enough choices to appeal to most anyone.
Now I can rest up from this busy weekend at work tomorrow! What did YOU do?
