[...] I also saw many Oregon Hill neighbors- including just of a few of the neighborhood artists. Mary from China Street was there with some her hats and scarfs. She has also had good luck selling her wares at the South of the James Farmer’s Market. [...]

Ace is excellent name for a basset. Didn't try the egg rolls will give them a try next week. I went with my old standby Tex. It takes you way too long to get your food but I do enjoy talking trash with that man. It was really an impressive turnout. My vote for best new idea was the waffle cones dipped in chocolate filled with fresh fruit by Chocolates by Kelly who are sharing a tent with Blanchard's.

Ace was the best host he could be, but finally he just wore out. Those ears are heavy to carry around. The old favorites were at the market; Blanchards, Amy's Garden, Faith Farm, The Pie Lady. But did you taste the egg rolls the lady was selling. She gets up Saturday morning, makes 300 fresh Filippino egg rolls, and has a Vietnamese Chili dipping sauce. New market favortie (She sold out by 10:15) I also appreciate the recycling bins and the organization that had vendors in an set up early. All in all, a great opening day.
