2 Year Old Accidently Shot on West 25th
From the Richmond Police:
Richmond Police received a report of a person shot in the 300 block of West 25th Street shortly after 4 p.m. today (4/24). Upon arrival police found a two year-old male suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his arm.
During the investigation it was determined the shooting was an accidental act by the victim’s 11 year-old sibling.
There were no parents or guardians at home at the time of the incident and the father, Carlos D. Gilliam, 33, of the same address, has been arrested and charged with felony child abuse for not having the firearm secured.
This case is being reviewed by the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office to determine whether charges will be placed against the 11 year-old.
