Immediate opening for the position of Secretary to the Patrick Henry Elementary School of Science and Arts. PHSSA will be Richmond Public School’s first free public charter school and will be open to all residents of Richmond. We are slated to open in July 2010! Position: Secretary
Position open date: Immediately
Term: June 2009-July 2010Duties: Attend ALL weekly meetings (currently Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. until about 9:30 p.m. at the Patrick Henry building on Semmes Ave) and record meeting minutes. Minutes must be posted in a timely manner to our Google site. Responsibilities also include keeping files of all documents, whether digital or physical. The Secretary also serves on the Board of Directors helping to make policy and govern the elementary school for a term of up to 3 years. This position is responsible for fielding all email inquiries about the school and responding appropriately. In addition, the Secretary will assist the president and other members of the board of directors as required.
Qualifications: Ability to type well while listening and editing for content. Use of a Laptop strongly encouraged, but not required. Impeccable grammar and writing skills are desired. Applicant should write in a manner that will reflect the integrity and professionalism of the school. He or she should have a basic familiarity with computers, the Internet and Richmond Public Schools. Prior experience volunteering and/or managing a plus.
Compensation: This is a volunteer position and a true labor of love!
