Triangle Fencework

If you have a small child you are well familiar with the Westover Hills United Methodist Church’s toddler playground, affectionately known as “Triangle Park”. WHUMC provides and maintains it as a benefit to the neighborhood and it is a well-used venue. Last night at the Westover Hills Neighborhood Association meeting it was decided that they would take on, in way of thanks, the task of replacing the fence and they could use some volunteer labor to tear down the old fence.

Last night at it’s monthly meeting the Westover Hills Neighborhood Association (WHNA) graciously agreed to fund the installation of a new fence for the neighborhood park located at the intersection of Westover Hills Boulevard and New Kent Road .

The WHNA will be working with Westover Hills United Methodist Church and other groups over the coming months to further enhance the playground with new playground equipment, new picnic tables, and new benches.

The fence installation is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 20th and conclude by Wednesday, April 22nd.

In an effort to keep costs down the WHNA has chosen to tear down the old fence using volunteer labor.  Mrs. Graziano’s office has offered to coordinate the removal of the debris by Department of Public Works.  These efforts will save close to $800.

My plan is to tear down the fence on Saturday, April 18th.  I realize this is a busy day in Westover Hills and our immediate area.  I plan on being on-site beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Any assistance would be appreciated – we will need a reciprocating saw to cut down some of the posts.

As someone who is at the park all the time with my son I am thrilled that the project is moving forward.  It’s exciting to envision what the park will look like in a few weeks!
