Spring Break Panic Begins Now
Richmond Public Schools will be on Spring Break April 6-10th and I’m already starting to panic about how the kid and I are going to keep ourselves entertained. I’ve been praying to the weather gods that it’s warm and sunny that week and I’m also checking out all the great events that Maymont is hosting this year.
During this perfect cost-effective alternative to a destination vacation, your family can enjoy fantastically fun programs plus moon bounces, carriage rides, hay rides, the petting pasture and the 4th annual VCU Tree Skirt Exhibition. New this year, look for Spring Break “Eggstras,” sponsored by Ukrop’s, at stations around the park. For just $1 each, choose a surprise-filled egg with a chance to win great prizes from Maymont and Ukrops. Indoor exhibits including Maymont Mansion and the Nature Center will be open 12-5pm (even on Monday, when they are usually closed). Most programs require advance registration. And note that virtually everything at Maymont is free. This year, the mayor proposes to cut support of Maymont, and that could cause closure on more days, or of certain activities.
