Westover Hills Branch of Richmond Public Library
Have you checked out the Westover Hills branch of the Public Library lately? When I started to cut my spending, the first thing to go was book purchases. Why buy when I could go online, place a hold on a book and then go pick it up from my local branch? They’ll transport a book from any of their branches and it usually is available within a day or two.
But there’s a lot more going on at the library then just picking up books. Need to send a fax? Want to get on the internet or take computer classes? Need a meeting room? They have it all at the local library!Westover Hill Branch Library

The library has an active advisory group which does fund-raising and events to engage the neighborhood. If you’re interested in checking the group out, their next meeting is Saturday April 4 at 9 a.m.

Are there any creative writing classes available through the library? I’ve seen them at the Visual Arts Center but while they’re all appealing and tempting to take, $150 for a reading/writing workshop seems steep in these economic times.
Hey Rachael, I took a look at the library calendar for the whole system but didn’t see any writing classes. go to http://www.richmondpubliclibrary.org/eventList.asp?date=8/1/2009
You might look into the James River Writer’s group: go to http://www.jamesriverwriters.org
