Alt.Country at Plaza Bowl

I have gotten lazy about posting the weekly shows at Plaza Bowl, even though every time I go I have a blast. What’s not to like about music, cheap beer and duckpins? Despite my slackitude I have been keeping an eye on what is going on, so it is nice to read an article in Brick Weekly highlighting this weekend’s performer Justin Jones and the Driving Rain.

Jones’ music is soft, soulful country-rock, with little relation the bland, over-sentimental or over-silly pap you’ll hear on contemporary country radio. His songs have a grit and edge to them that speaks of the tenacious grip of a struggling musician with real heart.

Also performing will be Mild Winter and Preacher. The show is tomorrow 3/28 and there is a $5 cover charge, bowling is extra. The beers on tap are Yuengling and of course PBR.
