Ages 10-13
Maymont and the James River Association are teaming up to introduce day-campers to the natural side of Richmond through fun field trips and lots of hands-on activities. Explore the James River by canoe, fish for aquatic creatures, hike through natural habitats and much more!Registration for 2009 Summer Camps begins February 2 for Maymont & JRA members and February 16 for non-members. I didn’t realize that Maymont offers a bunch of Summer Camps for a variety of ages.
Growing Up Green
Ages 4-5
Small explorers discover the wonders of nature as they study birds, turtles, dinosaurs, insects and farm animals.Young Naturalist
Ages 6-8
Nature lovers study Maymont’s ponds and streams, hike the grounds and learn about Virginia’s native animals and plants.James River Runners
Ages 7-10
Kids investigate river creatures while learning how the mighty James River affects their everyday lives. They enjoy hikes, meet native animals, and picnic on the grounds.
