Hit and Run Driver Sought

This morning an accident at the Jahnke Road exit ramp off northbound Chippenham Parkway resulted in the death of one driver and the other driver fled.

Some details from RTD:

The crash occurred early this morning when a white Toyota and a dark-colored Ford Explorer collided against a jersey barrier at the Jahnke Road exit ramp off northbound Chippenham Parkway.

The driver of the Explorer was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, police said. The Toyota driver left before police arrived, authorities said.

Cmdr. John Hall said blood on the scene led authorities to believe the Toyota driver was injured.

“We’re looking right now,” Hall said shortly before dawn. “We’re checking with area hospitals to see if this person shows up.”
