Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s Birthday at the Westover Hills Library
The Westover Hills Library will celebrate Dr. Seuss’s Birthday Monday, March 2nd at 3:00 p.m.
The Fisher Library Club’s Readers Theatre for Preschoolers will present a performance of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” at the Westover Hills Library.
The Group will also provide birthday cake and refreshments to help celebrate this special birthday.
Dr. Seuss or Theodor Seuss Geisel is best known for his work writing children’s book and published over 60 throughout his career. He is less known for his work in politics during World War II. He began work as a columnist for left wing New York paper “PM“ later published in Dr. Seuss Goes to War. Eventually he went to work directly on the war effort. drawing posters for the Treasury Department and the War Production Board. Then, in 1943, he joined the Army and was commander of the Animation Dept of the First Motion Picture Unit of the United States Army Air Forces, where he wrote films that included Your Job in Germany, a 1945 propaganda film about peace in Europe after World War II, Our Job in Japan, and the Private Snafu series of adult army training films.
